A Different Approach to Doula Training
This is not a one-size-fits-all course.
Here, we move beyond checklists and protocols, and into a deeper understanding of what it truly means to support birth.
We weave together:
The physiology of birth
Evidence-based knowledge
Emotional and psychological support
Intuition and embodied presence
The spiritual and energetic layers of this work
Your role and path as a doula.
You will learn what to do. But just as importantly, you will learn how to be.
Training Details
Duration and Format:
4 immersive days (in-person)
Training follows a structured 200-slide presentation but is anything but rigid: we pause regularly for guided meditations, reflective exercises, discussion, journalling in your Tread Lightly Summary/Journal Book, and hands-on practice.
Each day is designed to balance learning with reflection, connection, and embodiment - so that knowledge is absorbed, not just delivered.
Recognition & Certification
Upon the four-day course completion, students have the opportunity to complete the theory, and practical requirements should they wish to receive certification (recognised by the the Norwegian Doula Association), reflecting both your practical skills and your readiness to begin working as a qualified doula.
Book Inclusion: Students may choose to include the full Tread Lightly: The Art of Holding Space - A Birth Doula’s Guide as part of their training. This can be purchased at a discounted rate or included in the course price, depending on preference. The book serves as a companion for ongoing reflection, giudance, and deepening your understanding of holding space in birthwork.

Who This Training Is For
This training is for you if:
You feel called to support women through birth
You are at the beginning of your journey as a doula
You are already working with women and want to deepen your skills
You are seeking a more intuitive, grounded, and holistic approach to birthwork
You do not need prior experience.
You only need to feel the call.
I am part of the board of the Norwegian Doula Association, where I serve as utdanningsansvarlig (Head of Education), and teach doula training within the association.
Alongside this, I also offer my training independently through Doula Lindi - Intuitive Birthing.
This allows for both structured group trainings within the tassociation, as well as more intimate or flexible learning spaces for those who feel called to a different format.
As this work continues to grow, I will also be offering trainings beyond Norway, sharing this approach to birthwork with women in other parts of the world.
Doula Training
Tread Lightly - Intuitive Birthing
A holistic, heart-led approach to supporting birth, blending practical skills, intuition, and presence.
There is a quiet calling that some women feel.
A pull towards supporting birth walking alongside families and holding space in life’s most powerful transitions.
If you are here, you may already feel it.
This training is an invitation to step into that calling, with both confidence and humility, with knowledge and intuition, with heart.
The Tread Lightly - Intuitive Birthing approach honours both the knowledge and nuance of birthwork. It values presence over performane, listening over leading, and trust over control.
This training is not just about learning techniques; it is about becoming the kind of doula who can truly hold space.
